Julie Council is a licensed clinical social worker. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Arkansas and received her Master of Social Work at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Julie has been working as a clinical social worker for 22 years.  Julie is also a professor at the UofA, School of Social work, where she serves as field instructor and internship supervisor for both bachelor level and master level social work students.  

Julie believes the most effective way to support someone seeking counseling is providing a safe space to explore the life stressors they face as well as any mental health issues they would like to address.  She is passionate about working with children and their families to overcome issues of conflict as well as address their mental health needs. Julie also enjoys working with adults struggling to adjust to or cope with life stressors. Julie utilizes evidence-based interventions to help clients develop healthy coping skills.

Julie enjoys traveling with her husband and two daughters as well as spending quality time with family at home. She spends most of her free time watching her girls play soccer, basketball, or golf, or visiting friends and family who live all over the country.
